About This Position
Life Transitions seeks clinical interns to work with complex and diverse caseloads while developing counseling competencies under professional supervision. The Life Transitions internship program provides opportunities for students to demonstrate increasing counseling competence.
Responsibilities
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality while providing direct therapy services
- Provide direct therapy services to diverse client populations
- Consult with supervisors on client mental health optimization
- Demonstrate knowledge of professional ethical standards
- Work with diverse socio-economic and ethnic populations
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally
- Maintain electronic health records
- Establish cooperative relationships with staff and agencies
- Complete evaluations promptly
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or related field
- Certified Counselor credential (WAC 246-810; RCW 18.19) OR Agency Affiliated License
- Written clinical supervisory agreement must be on file before seeing clients
- Spanish fluency is preferred but optional
