About Nicole
I’m Nicole Boyett, MSW, LSWAIC, and a Navy veteran and clinical social worker who believes therapy is most effective when people feel genuinely seen, respected, and supported. My experiences as a veteran, social worker, and mental health professional have shaped my commitment to creating a therapeutic environment that is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in respect for each person’s individual experiences.
My clinical experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship and family dynamics, emotional regulation, and other challenges that can make daily life feel overwhelming. I use a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative approach, drawing on evidence-informed therapeutic practices and adapting treatment to the individual rather than expecting everyone to fit the same model.
I believe that understanding why we think, feel, and respond the way we do can be an important part of the therapeutic process. Psychoeducation is therefore an important component of my work. I help clients develop a deeper understanding of emotions, thoughts, behaviors, nervous-system responses, relationships, and coping patterns so they feel more informed and empowered to make meaningful changes.
My clinical background also includes experiential approaches through my work with the EAGALA model and equine-assisted settings. This experience has strengthened my appreciation for experiential learning, nonverbal communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, and how relationships can create opportunities for insight and growth. I draw on these experiences to inform my broader clinical practice.
As a veteran, I understand that experiences of service, transition, relationships, identity, and major life changes can have a lasting impact on how we understand ourselves and navigate the world. My work with veterans and within the VA has further shaped my commitment to meeting people where they are and recognizing the strengths, resilience, and experiences they bring.
