My Philosophy
Healing is possible when we are willing to do the work together. I believe in listening deeply, speaking intentionally, and understanding others' perspectives. My approach centers on meeting clients where they are, helping them identify their strengths, and supporting them through meaningful transformation. I look forward to working with you!
About Troy
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Co-Founder/Clinical Director of Life Transitions. I am also an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor, passionate about training the next generation of therapists. Since 2014, I have built internship and associate-level training programs in collaboration with universities including the University of Washington, PLU, Antioch, Seattle U., Denver University, and Naropa.
My professional journey has included developing a Behavioral Health Agency from the ground up, designing a 35-hour Clinical Foundations Training curriculum, and supervising more than 20 associate therapists. I've also created and implemented contracts for Family Preservation Services, Positive Parenting Programs, and culturally relevant services for diverse and bilingual populations across 12 counties.
I bring a strong commitment to equity and social justice in behavioral health, and I believe deeply in the resilience of individuals and families. My clinical work is grounded in systemic perspectives, blending evidence-based practices with creativity, cultural awareness, and compassion.
As well as being conversationally fluent in Spanish, some personal experiences that have influenced me are marriage, divorce, becoming a father, growing up in a blended family, becoming a veteran of a foreign war, and the deaths of close family members and friends.
